"The cars have been traced to their original owners in Navi Mumbai," Gafoor told reporters.

"The thefts of the cars was reported to the local police on July 8 and July 15," he said. He, however, refused to reveal the identity of the real owners.

A bomb and 25 small packets containing the white powder weighing 25 kg were found from a black car in Puna area of Surat on Sunday. A detonator and two watches too were recovered. The bomb was soon defused. The police suspects that the white powder could have been ammonium nitrate.

Later in the day, another car was found at Varachha Road and four bombs were recovered from it. All four bombs were defused.
