Expressway to be ready by December 2011

Yamuna Expressway, the 165-kilometre link from Greater Noida to Agra, is expected to be thrown open to commuters by the end of December 2011.

Yamuna Expressway, the 165-kilometre link from Greater Noida to Agra, is expected to be thrown open to commuters by the end of December 2011. On Thursday, Alok Kumar, Uttar Pradesh secretary for housing and industrial development, along with Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority chief executive officer SK Dwivedi and SS Puri from Jaypee Group, inspected the expressway to assess work progress. Mediapersons also accompanied the officials.
"Work is to be completed at six forest stretches, 6 interchanges and 3 toll plaza areas. Otherwise, the link road is complete till Agra," said SK Dwivedi.
The Yamuna Expressway is 100-metres-wide with 6 lanes that can be expanded to 8 lanes.
