Imran Farhat, the Pakistan A opener, who struck a hundred in the warm-up match against India, said the ton has not just instilled confidence in him but has also given him an opportunity to regain his place in the Pakistan Test side.

"I am doing my best to regain my place in the team and I am delighted to score a triple figure in a lead up match," an Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) report quoted him as saying.

The batsman whose last Test appearance for Pakistan was in 2004 against Australia also said, "I was struggling to regain the lost touch and playing in the domestic matches helped me to overcome my weaker areas of batting and now when I have scored (107) against India I feel that I am back to my form."

He said he had overcome his inability to stay at the crease for long hours and his innings against India was a result of this improvement.

"Now I have learnt to stay for long time at crease and I am very much concerned to improve further and it was the result of concentration and planning that today I played a good innings," the opener said.
