Fire breaks out on Kingfisher plane, passengers safe

The passengers and crew of Kingfisher flight flying from Kochi to Chennai had a providential escape when a fire broke out in the cargo just before the departure at Kochi International Airport on Sunday morning. All the passengers were safely deplaned.

The plane had 36 passengers on board when fire borke out in the cargo section. All the passengers were safely deplaned.

Preliminary inspection has revealed that a courier bag delivered by Blue Dart contained boric acid and some chemical liquid.

The courier baggage has been taken for detailed investigation and the officials of Blue Dart Couriers and Hindustan Unilever Company which supplied the baggage to Blue Dart were summoned to the airport for further clarifications on the contents of the baggage.

The flight IT-2482 was delayed by 15 minutes without the cargo.
