GANDHI NAGAR police have arrested two persons for allegedly firing at a union leader Haidar Ali near Lalghati almost a week ago. Superintendent of Police Anant Kumar Singh said two of three accused have been arrested while the hunt is on for the absconding person.

Umesh Prasad, Mohammad Ishaq alias Gudda and Vipin Bihari shot at Haidar Ali on March 3. While Ishaq alias Gudda, 42, resident of Piplani and Umesh Prasad, 39, resident of Bhanpur have been arrested the hunt has been launched for the third - Vipin Bihari. The accused have reportedly confessed to their crime.
The attackers had an enmity with Ali because of an old union rivalry. The accused and the complainant work at the Food Corporation of India (FCI) go-down at Qainchi Chhola and are with different unions. Ali, 58, a resident of Gandhi Nagar, was riding his motorcycle when he was shot at twice. He was treated and his condition is now out of danger. The Gandhi Nagar police are interrogating the arrested duo.
