Five pilgrims killed in Bihar bus accident

At least five pilgrims were killed and 40 others injured when the bus in which they were travelling in overturned on National Highway 2 in Bihar's Samastipur district, police said.

The bus with about 60 pilgrims on the way to Deoghar in Jharkhand from Mahant-Maniari village in Muzaffarpur district veered off the road and plunged into a roadside ditch near Tajpur last midnight, Samastipur Superintendent of Police S L Das told PTI.

He said around ten seriously injured passengers were being treated at the Sadar hospital here, while the rest were admitted to the Referral Hospital at Tajpur.
