Five selected to study abroad

FIVE CANDIDATES belonging to the schedule castes community have been selected under the scholarship scheme of the Schedule Castes Welfare Department for higher studies abroad in the year 2005-06. Deepti Kartikeye of Jabalpur is being provided the sanctioned amount for two years of higher studies effective from 2006.

FIVE CANDIDATES belonging to the schedule castes community have been selected under the scholarship scheme of the Schedule Castes Welfare Department for higher studies abroad in the year 2005-06. The four other candidates selected under the scheme are Pramod Kuril- Indore, Kamlesh Kumar Ahirwar- Bhopal, Pranesh Meshram- Bhopal and Ravi Abua of Kushi.

The sanctioned amount will be provided to them as soon as they inform the department about their admissions. As per the information received from the Schedule Castes Welfare Department, an amount of Rs 93.30 lakh was distributed among the four candidates selected in the year 2003-04 for higher studies abroad.

It may be mentioned that ten SC candidates are provided financial assistance by the government from the year 2006-07 onwards for post-graduate courses, research degree and participating in post research programmes.

Selected candidates are required to take admission in the recognised universities or institutes within a period of three years from the date of selection. After the prescribed time limit, the scholarship stands cancelled automatically. Further, under the scheme, it is mandatory for candidates to return to India after finishing their courses.
