"The report of five persons, including three in Konta tehsil and one each in Bijapur and Dantewada tehsils being washed away in the flood waters, were received on Sunday," Dantewada District Collector KR Pisda told.

The official said that nature's fury had caused losses to the tune of crores of rupees in the district.

After three days of flood, waters have submerged about a dozen villages in Konta, Sukma and Bhopalpatnam areas of the district, official sources from Dantewada said.

"Already 10,000 people have been put in 20 relief camps in Dantewada district and for the people, whom the administration failed to bring to safer places, food and medicines are being air dropped," they said.

The flood had caused havoc in the district, which already had inadequate infrastructure, sources said.

The administration had received reports of house collapse at 60 places, including naxal-infested Errabore, Injeram, Konta and Sukma areas, officials said.
