It may be mentioned that one of the prime accused Sanjay Pathak had been evading arrest since long. His brother Ajai Pathak who is in jail was denied bail by the High Court recently. The wives of the two brothers who were said to be actively involved in all the deals of their husbands are also accused in this case which had been moving at snail's pace after the same was registered during the days of former SSP Sunil Kumar.

Following the SSP's orders the George Town police swung into action on Saturday and sealed the flats in Kanti Apartments in Allahpur from where the brothers had been running the flourishing job racket.

The SSP is also understood to have ordered formation of two teams for the arrest of three absconding accused Sanjay Pathak, his wife and the wife of Ajai Pathak.

Atleast 300 youngmen are suspected to have been duped by the brothers who even ran a training center christened as ''Tanshu Institute of Maritime Studies'' on the outskirts of the city to convince the prospective candidates that whatever they were doing was genuine. PT, exercise and drills on a regular basis were held at this academy which even had an instructor.

The case, it may be mentioned, came into limelight following complaints by some candidates who had run out of patience after their call letters failed to arrive even after the completion of the so-called rigorous training which they had undergone. But, initially senior police officers took no interest in the case.
