Funky tops, strapless tees, long kurtas and kurtis make a cool style statement if you team them with basic blue jeans or denim skirts. Denim, the most versatile of all garments never seems to go out of fashion. It just gets better and more stylish with time.

Seventeen-year-old Tanya Chadha mixes and matches different tops with her plain old pair of jeans on different occasions. “For the day I prefer to be wear a sporty tee that goes well with my jeans. But for a night out with friends I add a bit of colour to the same pair of jeans by co-ordinating it with a bright coloured halter or spaghetti and a funky belt. I like to experiment with embellished jeans too, but I prefer to keep the look simple with a plain top,” says Chadha who’s just graduated from Sanskriti School.

Unlike Chadha who prefers to stick to denim jeans, 19-year-old Tanya Sharma loves her collection of skirts, shorts, dungarees and capris in denims that she mostly picks up from Levi’s and Lee Cooper. “Denims look fashionable at any time of the day. One can wear shorts or capris during the hot summer days and change into a trendy pair of jeans for the night that looks good when co-ordinated with a pair of fancy stilettos,” says Sharma.

Try trendy denim mini skirts, capris or shorts that come in various colours of blue as well as in white. “Your denims must have a good fit,” advises 17-year-old Devika Anand.

Besides the wide range of clothes in denim, the market seems to be flooded with denim accessories too.

Opt for a cool denim bag, team it with a belt or stilettoes to complete the look. So go for what catches your fancy this season!
