ALL INDIA State Bank of Indore Officers Co-ordination Committee (Education Cell) organised a discussion on ‘Union Budget 2006-07’ yesterday.
Economist Dr V D Nagar, tax consultant Subhash Deshpande and chartered accountant Manoj Gupta analysed the various aspects of the new budget. Dr V D Nagar gave an audio-visual presentation on Budget 2006-07.
Dr Nagar said that the Finance Minister had neglected key issues like disinvestments, unemployment and poverty in the budget.
He underlined that the daily consumer goods had become costly and the government was not using the capital in the country properly. Manoj Gupta termed the new budget as more political than economical. Gupta also stated that many bills concerning the banking industry were pending and the government was constantly neglecting them.
Subhash Deshpande explained about the new provisions in income tax and the technical aspects of new budget. Committee’s Education Cell president Alok Khare introduced the guests in the programme. Satyendra Bindal, Suresh Upadhyay, Mukesh Pathak and V K Jain welcomed the guests. Cell assistant general secretary Niranjan Sikhwal conducted the programme, while K N Rawal proposed the vote of thanks.
