Fodder scam: SC dismisses CBI petition

SC dismissed a petition filed by the CBI seeking exemption from personal appearance of its Director before the Jharkhand HC.

Supreme Court on Monday dismissed a petition filed by the CBI seeking exemption from personal appearance of its Director before the Jharkhand High Court in a case relating to the fodder scam.

CBI had moved the petition before a vacation Bench comprising Justice Arijit Pasayat and Justice CK Thakker for expunging the observation of the High Court in which it had sought an explanation from its Director whether he has any ego clash to appear before it.

In the order, the court recorded the statement of Additional Solicitor General Gopal Subramaniam that CBI Director has no ego problem in appearing before the High Court and undertook to appear before it on the next date of hearing.
