Former Jammu and Kashmir State Road Transport Corporation (SRTC) employees, who had opted for Voluntary Retirement Scheme (VRS), today staged a dharna here, demanding clearance of their pending dues and arrears.

Led by their union president Dev Raj Bali, the employees raised slogans against the state government for not clearing their pending dues of Cost of Living Allowance since 1999 and sat on a dharna in front of the Press Club here.

They also demanded implementation of the Sixth Pay Commission.

Bali appealed to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to consider their genuine demands and said pending dues of all VRS employees should be cleared as soon as possible.
