Former Congress MLA from Vijayawada Md Jaleel Khan has been expelled from the party following his allegations against the state party leadership of corrupt practices in giving tickets.

Party President D Srinivas in light of serious derogatory statements made against AICC and APCC office bearers which is detrimental to the interest of the party, has expelled Khan from the party with immediate effect, a statement issued by the party said here today.

Khan, a former business associate of Srinivas and strong contender of the Vijayawada (East) constituency had alleged that he was denied ticket due to corrupt practice.
