Former Shiv Sena member of Parliament (MP) Mohan Rawale was expelled from the party after he launched a frontal attack on party chief Uddhav Thackeray on Monday.
Rawale said middlemen were running the Sena and Uddhav did not allow him audience for four years even when he was an MP. He said Uddhav's personal assistant Milind Narvekar was actually running the Sena.
"Narvekar is ruining the party. Late Balasaheb Thackeray had asked Uddhav to sack Narvekar from the party," Rawale told a press conference.
Sena spokesperson Sanjay Raut announced Rawale's expulsion minutes after his statements against the party leadership.
Rawale represented the Mumbai south central parliamentary seat for five terms.
