The accused have been identified as Pardeep, the victim's husband, his mother and two sisters.
A case has been registered under sections 304-B (dowry death) and 498 A (subjecting married woman to cruelty) of the IPC at the Baldev Nagar police station.

Local residents said after the incident, victim's Monika father who lives in Saharanpur reached Ambala.
In his complaint to the police, he alleged that his daughter was married to the accused, an electrician, three years back and was constantly harassing her for the dowry.
He further alleged that Monika phoned him two days back complaining that her in-laws were pressurising her to bring more dowry.

Local residents said the relations between the couple were strained for some time. The deceased is survived by one-and-a-half-year-old son.
Police officials said the victim's body had been handed over to her relatives after conducting post-mortem examination. Investigations are on in the case.
