A police spokesman said the explosion occurred after the boys while playing started a bonfire in the fields of Aragam, Chatti Bandi.

"The boys received injuries when something exploded in the bonfire. The injured were shifted to the district hospital after which two boys, Momin Ahmad Rather and Amjad Ahmad Khan were shifted to Bone and Joints Hospital in Srinagar for treatment," the spokesman said.

He stated their condition was stable. "The police were on the job to ascertain the cause of the explosion," he added. On Wednesday last, a mysterious blast killed two schoolgoing siblings, eldest of age nine, in a village of Rajouri in the Jammu division.

Locals said two minors were killed when they were on their way to home from school on the outskirts of Baryoon Dara village of Thanamandi tehsil.
