The personnel, who have been shown the door, are Jasbir, Amit, Manoj and Rustoom, all posted at Sadar police station here.

The accused were extorting money by setting up a fake check point near Gaddi Kheri village in the district. After receiving a tip-off, a police team reached the site and found the erring head constables extorting money from commuters.

On the IGP's direction, superintendent of police (SP) Rajesh Duggal suspended them and marked a departmental investigation against them. Rao said the police department would not spare any official found guilty of corruption and dereliction of duty.
