The arrests were made by security personnel engaged in anti-naxalite operation in the dense forests of Tembaguda, about 120 km from here yesterday, Nilakantha Patra, inspector-in-charge of the police station said.
The Maoists dentified as Suna Gandalaka, Dhobai Kadraka, Bhapei Praska and Gopala Pidikaka of nearby villages were allegedly involved in a number of crimes, including the killing of the VHP leader in 2008 and Nayagarh attack in 2007.
The personnel had seized a land mine, explosive substances, Maoists literatures and banners from the ultras, Patra said.
