Acting on specific information, police swooped on a flat in Hirakunj Society in Ghatlodia area late last night and arrested the prime suspect Chirag Shah, his brother Ravi and parents Sureshbhai and Niruben, police said.

Police recovered bonds of investment worth Rs 75 lakh made as fixed deposits in private banks allegedly from the money the accused got from cricket betting.

"About a year ago Chirag was arrested along with his maternal uncle, who is a municipal councillor for cricket betting and police had recovered Rs 10.5 lakh cash from them", Ghatlodia police inspector C M Mudaliar told PTI.

Mudaliar said the family members had this time been cautious by not using mobile phones or laptops to contact the customers but only used landline phones.

Police simultaneously raided an apartment in Shahibaug but the information got leaked and they escaped from there.
