Torsello, 36, was rescued on Friday after his abductors dropped him off at the side of a road in southern Afghanistan not far from where he was abducted by unknown men on October 12, the Italian embassy said.
He arrived in the capital on Friday night and flew out on a special flight early today, an official at the embassy said.
