Fresh batch of pilgrims leave for Amarnath

A batch of 659 pilgrims today left Jammu base camp for the Amarnath cave shrine in south Kashmir Himalayas. A convoy of 21 vehicles, carrying 659 devotees, left from Bhagwati Nagar base camp in Jammu at around 4.45 am to pay obeisance at the Amarnath cave shrine, police said here today.

A convoy of 21 vehicles, carrying 659 devotees, left from Bhagwati Nagar base camp in Jammu at around 4.45 am to pay obeisance at the Amarnath cave shrine, police said here today.

The 27th batch of pilgrims, which included 467 men, 140 women and 09 children, apart from 43 sadhus, are on way to twin base camps of Pahalagam and Baltal in the Kashmir valley.

With today's batch a total of 47,106 pilgrims have left Jammu base camp for Amarnath so far.
