Three inmates were shot dead and around six got injured including four policemen in gang war around 3 pm in village Duleena of Jhajjar district, Hisar on Saturday, when as many as 15 unknown assailants started firing on the police van.
The incident occurred when Jhajjar police were taking inmates to Bhodsi Jail of Gurgoan after hearing at district and session courts in Rohtak.
The assailants fled away from the spot.
The reason behind the firing was not yet ascertained. According to police sources, rivalry between the two gangs led to the firing.
There was a hearing in Rohtak sessions court in of Fauji Dhaba Murder case on Saturday. Jhajjar police was taking nearly six hard core criminals including Shri Bhagwan, Dilbag, Anil, Ranbeer Fauji and Naseeb Singh in prison case.
An escort police was guiding the prison van after hearing in court. A truck hit the prison van near village Duleena of Jhajjar district. Suddenly, around 15 unknown assailants, who were in four white jeeps, reached the spot and started firing on the prison van.
The firing incident led to the death of three criminals including Shri Bhagwan, Dilbag and Anil on the spot and two others criminals including Ranbeer and Naseeb got seriously injured.
As many as six policemen including ASI Dinesh Kumar, constable Vivek Kumar and others got seriously injured.
All injured were admitted to PGIMS Rohtak.
Rohtak Range IG Alok Mittal told that three inmates who died in the firing were facing nearly 10 criminal cases.
He said that there was a rivalry between two gangs, which led to death of three inmates including Shri Bhagwan, Dilbag and Anil.
Shri Bhagwan and Dilbag were real brothers.
