Of the total sum, MP Sumitra Mahajan and area MLA Laxman Singh Gaud would contribute Rs 10 lakh each, while Rajya Sabha member Obedullah Azmi will contribute Rs 2 lakh. Indore Development Authority (IDA) will execute 50 per cent of the total development works.

This includes breaking the culvert and constructing a bridge in its place and undertaking development works on the bank side opposite temples.

Administration had hired a local private architectural firm to prepare the redevelopment plan, which has expressed the need to landscape the whole area.

The revised plan will include complete landscaping of the place on both sides of the two Shiva temples situated three metres below ground level. An RCC retaining wall will also be constructed along the temples.

The work of Ganesh temple to be unearthed from 20 meters below the ground level will be undertaken after leveling the ground, de-silting and shifting the families residing near the unearthed temple elsewhere.

Administration has drawn a rehabilitation plan for the families residing along Gangaur and Kadav Ghat who are likely to be allotted residential quarters constructed under Valmiki Ambedkar Avas Yojana. The other development works include installing fountain, lights and construction of water huts, toilet block, sitting area, pathways and setting up florist shops.

Temple project in-charge and SDM Uma Shankar Bhargav informed that ground levelling and construction of drains would begin this week. But major construction work will be undertaken after rains, he added.
