Apang (57) was administered the oath of office by Governor VC Pande at the Rajbhavan.

The ceremony, scheduled for 11.40 am began sharp at 12 pm and was attended by senior Congress leaders Mukut Mithi and L Wanglat, members of the CLP and independent MLAs.

It was boycotted by the BJP, which had said it would stay away as Apang had betrayed the people of the state and the party by joining Congress at the 11th hour before the polls.
