The UPCC has launched eight yatras to make aware the people about the achievements of the UPA Government and also to take the message of Congress president Sonia Gandhi to them. Launching yatra in Lucknow and Faizabad division, Gehlot said development has taken a back seat in the State during the tenure of non-Congress governments. “The situation is turning from bad to worse and the people have realised the difference between words and deeds of the Mulayam Government,” he said.

UPCC president Salman Khurshid said the Mulayam Government was deeply involved in corruption. “Misrule is prevailing all over the State and it is the duty of people to vote out this government,” he said. Congress Legislature Party leader Pramod Tiwari said the culmination of yatras would strengthen the Congress and bring its lost glory back.

Meanwhile, the Congress’ yatra entered the district on Tuesday. UPCC secretary Vinod Bihari Verma, who headed the yatra, said the Mulayam government had spend 25 per cent of Central grants in Saifai alone and termed the SP government as a failure on all fronts.

PCC member Devendra Singh, district president R R Kidwai and PCC member Khalid Jeelani were also present on the occasion.
