A teenaged girl committed suicide after she was allegedly gangraped by four youths, who have been arrested, police said.
A teenaged girl committed suicide after she was allegedly gangraped by four youths, who have been arrested on Monday, police said.
All the four youths were today arrested on the charges of gang raping and abetting the suicide of a teenage girl in Nalasopara, police said on Monday.
The victim was kidnapped on the night of August 1, by the foursome and taken her to an isolated locality and repeatedly raped her, police said, adding the girl was later abandoned.
The desperate girl went home only to hang herself to death with the help of a nylon rope she hung from the ceiling of the house, police said.
Initially police registered a case of accidental death yesterday, later on investigation it was revealed that the gangrape on her made her to take the extreme decision, they said.
The youths - Ravindra Chindwad (20), Raman Ilias D’souza (21), Rajkumar Manilal Yadav (19), Amol alias Laxmi (22) all residents of Nalasopara, have been charged with gangrape, abduction, and abetting the girl to commit suicide, police said.
