MSc Soil Science student, C Sreejana, hailing from Kathmandu, was doing her research work when the incident happened last night, police said today.
Sreejana was fully focused in the work and did not realise her dupatta had got entangled in the conveyor belt of a grinding machine, used for grinding leaves and plants.
Another student immediately alerted authorities, who in turn informed police.
Police, who registered a case, however, denied any foul play as the student was in the habit of working alone in the lab, sources said.
