Give some breathing space

I THINK Aminabad?s glory can be restored, if engineers compete and come out with a concrete blueprint. I have two additional points to make ?(i) the height of the elevated roof should be high enough to allow sufficient breathing space both for the shop-keepers and visitors/ customers and (ii) the spider net of electric wires, hanging with the electric poles, should be done away with by the LESA and some modern methods used for connecting electric supply to each shop.

The shopkeepers in the new structure will have pucca shops with sufficient space in-between the two rows. They will be relieved of heat and rain problems which exist because of the tin sheds. They may have some suggestions to offer in order to improve upon the proposed plan. Of course, their consult is necessary.

Sons, grandsons and relatives of those owning small business in Aminabad or of those living near Aminabad largely are the occupiers of roads around Ghantaghar Park. They will have to be re-accommodated with their make shift stalls, but in a scientific manner. Another point which acts as a magnet is Garbarjhala Park and the shops on the either side. It also needs to be given the same treatment as suggested for Ghantaghar park.

Funds needed for the purpose can be obtained from the National Urban Renewal Mission.
