Government keen on bringing CAS to metros

The Union government on Wednesday assured the Delhi High Court that it was keen on implementing the Conditional Access System (CAS) in the three cities of Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata.

Additional Solicitor PP Malhotra, appearing for the Centre, however sought at least 180 days time to implement the scheme.

A Division Bench headed by acting Chief Justice Vijender Jain, however, asked the Centre to file an affidavit on the implementation within two weeks and posted the matter for hearing to July 19.
