Governor asks varsities to declare results by June 15

VICE-CHANCELLOR OF the DDU Gorakhpur University Prof Arun Kumar said that Chancellor TV Rajeswar had issued a ten-point guideline, asking the V-Cs to implement it without any delay.
In his guidelines, the Chancellor had asked the universities to announce the results of the examinations conducted by them before June 15. The admission process for the next session should start from July 1 and be completed by July 10. The affiliated degree colleges were directed to register their self-financed courses by June 30 this year.
Briefing about the V-Cs’ conference held at Governor House in the State Capital on April 10, Prof Kumar on Wednesday said that Chancellor directed the V-Cs to take classes and fix timing to hear the students’ problems. He said that the Chancellor had directed the university authorities to regularise the academic session.
Prof Kumar said that the Chancellor had expressed his displeasure at the fact that lecturers and professors were not taking the classes regularly. He directed the university authorities, finance officer and registrars to bring transparency in their work. He also expressed displeasure at the academic standard of various universities. The Chancellor took the details regarding availability of teachers in degree colleges.
Replying to a question Kumar said that Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav had also addressed the V-Cs’ conference at Governor House and expressed concern over disparity in the field of education. Yadav had also expressed concern over commercialisation of education and laid stress on the need for job -oriented courses in the university, Kumar added. He said that CM had directed the university authorities to bring discipline in educational institutions.
Vice-chancellor Prof Arun Kumar said that the university would bring the research projects of all the departments of the university on university website. The research of various subjects submitted in last 25 years in the university would be available on the site.
