“Let us see what they say in writing,” he said, pointing that political parties had changed their views on the examination in the past.

The government has sought views of political parties on continuing with English and an aptitude test introduced in 2011 in the preliminary examination.

The government has to issue the notification for the 2015 examination by May next year but if there are any significant changes, it needs to let the candidates know in advance.
