The decision to send a police team was taken after Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Rajendra Bansal rejected the Rajasthan Police plea to issue a non bailable warrant against the Orissa Home Guard DGP, state Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria told PTI.

The team will be led by a Circle Officer, he added.

The court had said the Rajasthan Police was free to arrest Mohanty.

When contacted, Orissa DGP Amranand Patniak said that he had discussed the matter with his Rajasthan counterpart AS Gill about the matter.

Asked why Orissa cops were not co-operating with their Rajasthan counterparts in the case, Patniak said his force would extend all possible help within the law to interrogate Mohanty.
