Talking to mediapersons, Dr Agrawal said the bridge was expected to incur an expense of around Rs 13.44 crore, which would be equally shared by the State government and the Ministry of Railways. He claimed that the State government had given out of turn recommendation for construction of the overbridge at Tarang crossing and Surajkund crossing on his appeal.

Agrawal said he had handed over 12-point charter of demands to the chief minister. The demands included construction of these overbridges,
he added.

Responding to a question, Agrawal said he would request Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav to allocate funds for bridge construction at Surajkund crossing.

The State government had also sanctioned Rs 1.45 crore for revival of the prestigious Laldiggi Park, which was in deplorable condition, he said.

Expressing concern over prolonged power rostering at night, Agrawal alleged that Power Corporation officials were not complying with the chief minister’s order. He further said that the power scenario could not improve as no political party had a long-term scheme for it. Power generation units’ establishment required 5 to 6 years time and Rs 2000 crore investment but the parties in power were distributing unemployment allowances and Kanya Vidya Dhan to consolidate their vote bank, he added.
