Secretary of the association Shrishmani Tripathi said that that on the day teachers would sport black band and abstain from all work and programmes in protest against the incident.
He urged all the teachers to condemn the attack. The GUACTA also organised a programme to pay tributes to Prof Sabarwal and said that his death was the result of criminalisation of students’ politics. They demanded for stringent action against the miscreants.
Significantly, while the GUACTA decided to observe protest day on September 5, the University Teachers’ Association decided to organize several colourful programmes.
After a meeting of the working committee members, secretary of the association Rajesh Kumar Singh said that a felicitation programme would be organised to welcome newly appointed teachers in the university.
President of the GUACTA Kripashanker Singh and vice president Bhagwan Singh expressed concern over unrest prevailing in educational institutions and said the nexus between criminal and politicians had posed a serious challenge before educational institutions and it had become difficult to teach the students.
