Gujarat VHP leader missing after court rejects bail
Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Jaideep Patel, whose anticipatory bail plea was rejected along with that of Gujarat minister Maya Kodnani by the Gujarat High Court on Friday, is missing.

Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Jaideep Patel, whose anticipatory bail plea was rejected along with that of Gujarat minister Maya Kodnani by the Gujarat High Court on Friday, is missing.
Kodnani and Patel are accused of leading mobs in the Naroda Patiya and Naroda Gaam localities in Gandhinagar in 2002 in which 106 people were killed.
Patel, the former state general secretary of the VHP, did not accompany Kodnani when she started for the office of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) in Gandhinagar to surrender after quitting as minister for higher education, women and child welfare.
"We have no knowledge of his (Jaideep Patel's) whereabouts," a VHP spokesperson told IANS.
