Gurgaon e-way plan finalised

The stakeholders of the Delhi-Gurgaon expressway — the Haryana government, National Highway Authority and DGSCL — have reached an understanding on the measures to decongest the toll plaza, which is now toll-free on the Punjab and Haryana high court’s orders.

The stakeholders of the Delhi-Gurgaon expressway — the Haryana government, National Highway Authority and DGSCL — have reached an understanding on the measures to decongest the toll plaza, which is now toll-free on the Punjab and Haryana high court’s orders.

The measures, to be submitted to the high court, include penalising drivers entering the lanes meant for cars that have tags (devices that are sensitive to sensors, giving them automatic passage) installed in them, setting up nine additional lanes and introducing touch-n-go smart cards that will preclude cash transactions, among other things.

Besides, it has been decided to close the U-turn near Ambience Mall and introducing three-four dedicated lanes for vehicles entering the industrial area, Udyog Vihar, from the Delhi side.

Highly-placed sources said the decisions, worked out jointly by the Haryana government and DGSCL, were handed over to NHAI chairman RP Singh for formulating the traffic plan.
