A mock security drill was also organised at the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) shooting range, in Kadarpur, where two Commonwealth Games shooting events are slated to take place.

A meeting, under the chairmanship of Joint Commissioner of Police (JCP) Alok Mittal was held in Gurgaon recently, in which security arrangements during the Commonwealth Games were discussed with representatives of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).

The meeting was attended by representatives from NDMA, CRPF, National Security Guards, private hospitals and government departments. Mittal said that an emergency response plan would be prepared with the help of officers of various departments and public representatives.

He said that each department in the district has been asked to designate a nodal officer on its behalf for the Games.

Brigadier B.K. Khanna from NDMA guided members present at the meeting about how to prepare a disaster management plan. Mittal also enquired about fire fighting arrangements at the shooting range, to which Ahlawat replied, “There are adequate arrangements for drinking water and refilling fire tenders in the campus.”

Mittal asked officers of the fire department to prepare a disaster management plan, focusing activities of their department, including equipments available with them.
