Guv, CM mourn Pran's death

He died in Mumbai on Friday after a prolonged illness. He was 93.

The governor in her condolence message said the country had lost a versatile actor. She said Pran was a multifaceted personality, who reigned the Indian cinema with his enthralling performance for over six decades.

She prayed to the almighty to give peace to the departed soul and strength to the bereaved family members to bear the irreparable loss.

Chief minister Virbhadra Singh said Pran had close association with Shimla and performed many plays in the historic Gaiety Theatre. He said even today people remember his riveting performance which entertained several generations. His death had created a void in the film industry which would be impossible to fill.

The chief minister prayed for peace of the departed soul and conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family of the legendary actor.
