Gwalior: Woman says youth hid his religion to marry her

A young woman has lodged a complaint against a youth alleging he hid her religious background to marry her. The 26-yr-old woman said Mujahir Khan befriended her posing as a Hindu man in 2007.

A young woman has lodged a complaint against a youth alleging he hid her religious background to marry her. The 26-yr-old woman said Mujahir Khan befriended her posing as a Hindu man in 2007 in Gwalior.

When she became aware of his Islamic background during courtship he promised to adopt Hindu religion after marriage but didn’t fulfil the promise.

After she shifted to her in-laws’ place in New Delhi, she wasn’t allowed to return to her home in Gwalior. However, she managed to return to Gwalior and lodged a complaint at Bahodapur police station in 2011 where the police tried to hush up the case.

SSP Santosh Singh said the matter would be looked into and suitable action would be taken.
