'Gymnastics Utsav' today

'Gymnastics Utsav- 2006' will be inaugurated at National Sports Academy, Khel Gaon, here on Saturday at 4 pm. ID Mittal, Group General Manager of the Bajaj Group of Industries, will be the chief guest. The elite gymnasts who have come from all over the country to attend the one-month national camp for the Third Asian Gymnastics Championship will take part in various events.

'Gymnastics Utsav- 2006' will be inaugurated at National Sports Academy, Khel Gaon, here on Saturday at 4 pm.

ID Mittal, Group General Manager of the Bajaj Group of Industries, will be the chief guest. The elite gymnasts who have come from all over the country to attend the one-month national camp for the Third Asian Gymnastics Championship will take part in various events.

The function will be marked by a gymnastics display by the 100 newly selected talents by the Academy for this year's summer training camp. Besides, there will be an exhibition of the medals and achievements of the Academy's national and international gymnasts and gymnastics choreography by the girl gymnasts.

Thirty gymansts and six coaches are attending this national camp at National Sports Academy, Khel Gaon.

Saturday's competition will give the contestants a tough time as they all have been undergoing a month-long training under the expert guidance of Chinese and Indian coaches. Only the best ones will be selected for the Indian team that will participate in the 3rd Asian Gymanstics Championship scheduled to be held at Surat from July 29.
