The Madras High Court on Wednesday adjourned to Friday the hearing on the anticipatory bail plea filed by Kanchi seer Jayendra Saraswati in connection with the complaint filed by Chitra, wife of accused-turned-approver in the Sankararaman murder case, Ravi Subramaniam.

In her complaint with the police, Chitra had alleged that two women advocates, Revathi Vasudevan and Nadira Banu, had gone to the sub-jail in Kancheepuram, where her husband is lodged, and threatened him and also tried to bribe him to change his confessional statement.

When the pre-arrest bail application came up for hearing, the Seer's counsel KS Dinakaran told Justice M Tanikachalam that the two lawyers had gone to meet some other prisoners and not Ravi Subramaniam.

They went there as members of the state legal cell, he claimed.
