While acquitting Sen and businessman Piyush Guha, the sessions court, however, held them guilty of sedition and conspiracy against the state and sentenced them to life imprisonment.
Additional advocate general Kishore Bhaduri said, “We respect the Supreme Court decision to grant bail to Sen, but it will have no impact on the hearing of the appeal.”
Sen’s counsel said the appeal was filed quietly in February, without his being informed.
