HC grants bail to 52 AIADMK men

The Madurai bench of Madras HC granted conditional bail to 52 AIADMK men, including Melur MLA R Samy, who were arrested for allegedly assaulting the police and issuing murder threats to them at Perungudi during the bypoll.

The Madurai bench of Madras High Court on Monday granted conditional bail to 52 AIADMK men, including Melur MLA R Samy, who were arrested for allegedly assaulting the police and issuing murder threats to them at Perungudi during the bypoll to Tirumangalam assembly constituency.

Justice P R Sivakumar directed the AIADMK men to sign before their respective Magistrates daily. Earlier, the Tirumangalam Magistrate had rejected them bail, forcing them to approach the High Court.
