It was the second dengue patients detected in last 10 days. Sudhir Ranjan Sharma, a resident of Jail road near Shahpur colony, was referred to Haematology department at SGPGI Lucknow after confirmation of dengue.
After JE virus, the presence of aides’ mosquitoes has increased the worries of district officials.

Sudhir was earlier getting treatment at a private nursing home in Gorakhpur, where the doctors referred him to Lucknow on October 11.
After the blood examination, his platelet count was found 29000, which was quite high from the normal.

Earlier, Dharmveer (18) son of Phoolchand resident of village Niba under Peepiganj police station was confirmed as a dengue patient. Though the number of dengue patients are increasing day by day.

Many patients are going under treatment in various private hospitals.
But the municipal corporation has yet not taken note of this serious issue. Fogging has yet not started in any part of the city.

As per the residents, even health department officials have yet not launch any campaign to protect the citizen from the mosquitoes bite.

It is noteworthy that Gorakhpur is mosquito prone area and proper fogging and cleaning of drainage was the need of hour. The open big drainage in densely populated areas like Reti Chowk, Khoonipur and Sahibganj are the breeding ground of the mosquitoes.

In the name of awareness campaign, Chief Medical Office has only published handbills and fulfilled his duties.

No arrangement has been made in district hospitals to admit the dengue-affected patients. Additional director health has alarmed all the CMOs of Gorakhpur and Basti division, which led no impact on the medical officer.
