Hearing on HPCA officials' bail plea adjourned

A special court at Dharamsala on Saturday adjourned the hearing on the plea filed by three Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) officials for anticipatory bail in a case of cheating registered against the cricket body till Monday as the trio remained absent from Saturday's hearing.

A special court at Dharamsala on Saturday adjourned the hearing on the plea filed by three Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) officials for anticipatory bail in a case of cheating registered against the cricket body till Monday as the trio remained absent from Saturday's hearing.

The three officials are HPCA senior vice-president RS Kapoor, honorary secretary Vishal Marwah and executive member RP Singh. Special judge justice RK Sharma directed the three officials to remain present in the court during the next hearing on Monday.

The three had moved the court for anticipatory bail after the state vigilance and anti-corruption bureau on August 1 had registered a case against the HPCA for alleged irregularities in use of land leased out to it in Dharamsala by the previous BJP government.

The court had court had directed them to join the investigation. After court's order, the vigilance and anti-corruption bureau had recorded the statement of the three on August 22.
