Helpline for mishap victims
THE HELPLINE for victims of accidents and trauma was inaugurated at the police control room on Thursday. Any information about accident or injured person could be given at the toll-free 1099 phone number. The list of 17 hospitals and nursing homes where the victim could be rushed immediately for first-aid is being given to auto-rickshaw drivers.

The Bhopal Accident and Trauma Care Society will pay the auto-rickshaw’s bill as well apart from providing immediate and free first aid to the victims. As per the scheme the victims will be admitted to the nearest hospital where facilities are available.
The aim is that the first hour after mishap, which is considered crucial for the life of the mishap victim, should not be wasted and the victim should get prompt medication.
