Herbal gardens in 12 dists soon

TO PROMOTE herbal farming and to make people aware of the importance of Ayurvedic medicines, an NGO Ambiya Herbal Research and Rural Development Centre will set up herbal gardens in 12 districts of eastern UP in association with the Christian Diocese of Banaras.

TO PROMOTE herbal farming and to make people aware of the importance of Ayurvedic medicines, an NGO Ambiya Herbal Research and Rural Development Centre will set up herbal gardens in 12 districts of eastern UP in association with the Christian Diocese of Banaras.

While talking to mediapersons here on Saturday, secretary of the centre Saba Yasin informed that Bishop Dr Patrick D’ Souza would inaugurate the formation of a herbal garden on the premises of the main church in Cantonment in Varanasi on Sunday evening.

She informed that on the heel of Varanasi, herbal gardens would be set up in the land of churches in 12 different districts of eastern UP.

Yasin said that the importance of Ayurved was well-known throughout world. “Keeping in view the increasing importance of Ayurveda, it is the need of the hour to promote herbal farming in the eastern part of UP”, she said and added that herbal farming would also extend help to rural women in becoming self- reliant.

She said that her organisation would apprise rural women about the importance of herbal farming and also impart training about manufacturing of Ayurvedic medicines through herbal plants.

Yasin informed that Ambiya Herbals had got a contract of making five km long herbal resort at Bangkok in Thailand.
