Heritage walk in naval dockyard on May 1

Naval history lovers can now watch a model of the HMS Trincomalee, the oldest ship in the world still afloat.

Naval history lovers can now watch a model of the HMS Trincomalee, the oldest ship in the world still afloat, during a heritage walk organised by the Indian Naval Dockyard here on May one.

The walk, organised to spread awarenesss of the rich historical background, would also include narrative accounts of the seven generations of the famous Wadia ship builders.

History lovers would also be taken on a nostalgic trip down the dry docks for repairs of warships, a tour of Bombay castle and told about the layout of the mechanical 100 years old clock, an offical release said here today.

The walk is organised by the Naval Dockyard on the first Sunday of each month to disseminate information on naval history.
