Delhi Police arrested one person and seized one kilogram of heroin worth Rs.10 million ($223,000) from him at the inter-state bus terminal (ISBT) in east Delhi on Friday.

Officials said that 32-year-old Vijay Ram had brought drugs from Badayun in Uttar Pradesh and was nabbed late on Thursday at Anand Vihar in Delhi. Police said Ram, who is a farmer by profession, had often visited the capital in the past few months to supply narcotics.
"He used to provide heroin to peddlers and often visited Delhi," said AS Cheema, deputy commissioner of police. He added that Ram was waiting to meet his contact when he was arrested.
"We are trying to locate the people whom he used to supply heroin," he added.
The officer said that in the past 11 months, over 67 kg of heroin has been seized in Delhi worth Rs.670 million ($14.99 million).
